Upholstery Pet odor treatment
Pet odor removal is considered as one of the difficult tasks to perform. Number of chemicals is provided in the market for removing the pet odor. Selection of these chemicals depends upon the nature of fiber your upholstery is made up of. In this article we have discussed few techniques to Carpet Cleaning RichardsonTX.
Pet odor is a very common problem in today’s houses. You cannot restrict your pet to a particular space. It moves from one corner of the house to the other. The dilemma is that it sits on your furniture as well. This generates a smell in your upholstery. Sometimes it even urinates on your sofa or other furniture. So removal of pet odor is an important step in upholstery cleaning.
The removal of this per odor is not only important for making the environment pleasant, but, also to discourage the pet from urination at this place in future. Pets will continue to return back to “accident zone” as long as it feels its personal smell.

Enzymatic cleaning:
Mostly we prefer to use company based chemicals. No doubt they are specially designed to work for upholstery cleaning.  These chemicals, however, also have harsh ingredients which decrease the fiber life of upholstery particularly chemical from a low standard company. Another option is the use of domestic chemicals like baking soda. You just need to add one pound baking soda with your regular detergent in washing machine. After washing air dry the items if possible. If stain and smell still persists, wash it again in machine and add some enzymatic detergent/cleaner. These enzymes will breaks down the pet waste crystals in cloth.
Pet urine removal:
If it is difficult to take off the covers from furniture you can use the combination of newspaper towels as well. Place these newspaper towels on the urine. It will soak up the urine. You can also put some sort of pressure on the newspaper towels for the efficient absorption. This method is more effective in case of fresh urine. Now rinse the accident zone with sufficient water by blotting or using wet vac.
Vinegar use:
A mixture of vinegar and baking soda is one of the most effective remedy for the smell of pets particularly the unpleasant smell of pee. Mix 2 cups of high quality vinegar with lukewarm water in a large bowl. Now add 4 table spoons of baking soda and mix it up. Pour it in spray bottle and apply it to the upholstery surface thoroughly. Let is set for 5 minutes then rub it up with a soft cloth.

Pet odor neutralizers:
After proper cleaning it is recommended to use pet odor neutralizers. High quality neutralizers are available in markets. DO NOT forget to read their instruction before use. Also consider the nature of fabric your upholstery is made up of. The inappropriate neutralizer can permanently spoil the look of your upholstery and damage it permanently.
